Muslims commemorate Mawlid, or Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, during ‘Rabi’ al-Awwal,’ the third month of the Islamic calendar. Because it marks the birth anniversary of Islam’s founder and the proclamation of the Quran’s first verse, this day is honored by many Muslim countries.

Muslims commemorate Mawlid, or Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday, during ‘Rabi’ al-Awwal,’ the third month of the Islamic calendar. The Shia community celebrates the event on the 17th of the month, but the Sunni community celebrates it on the 12th. It’s a day to gather and celebrate the founder of one of the world’s most significant religions with millions of followers.
