About the event

America is more than a place; it is an idea.  It is the idea that everyone is created equal and deserves to be treated equally throughout their lives and that everyone should have a fair shot and an equal chance to get ahead. And that very idea of America has been advanced by immigrants from every part of the world. From the earliest days of our republic to the present, immigrants have played an integral role in building our nation and advancing our democratic values and ideals. They have contributed talents, energy, and passion to every facet of American society, including diplomacy. Their dreams built America, and during National Immigrant Heritage Month, we celebrate their courage. Click HERE to view the resources developed by The White House.
